Jungle

It was not the gravel path I’ve been searching for when I got lost in this jungle.
I’ve got enough broken stones in my backpack to carry
and enough marbles to cherish that I’ve found in the past.

It was not my wish to get lost in the darkness underneath those crowns
but to cherish every single ray of sun that might make its way down
to where my feet drown in soil and touch my skin.

I wanted to get lost in this jungle to find my way out together with you,
to find a place to plant a tree.
And now I see the you was me.
